About This Tour

Explore northern Vietnam’s limestone seascapes on a three-day, two-night sailing experience aboard Emperor Cruises Legacy Halong, a boutique vessel inspired by the art and royal heritage of Emperor Bao Dai. The journey offers time to appreciate Ha Long Bay and, on the operator’s confirmed three-day route, the quieter landscapes and local communities associated with Lan Ha Bay and the Cat Ba archipelago.

Life on board balances elegant suite accommodation with the atmosphere of a small luxury cruise. Guests can enjoy scenic views from the deck, learn about the boat’s Vietnamese design influences and take part in organised activities that suit their interests and mobility. The second day’s smaller-boat excursion allows more time away from the main vessel, while the evenings are deliberately unhurried.

This is a cabin booking on a scheduled cruise unless an exclusive whole-ship charter is separately requested and confirmed. Haivenu can help arrange the appropriate suite, explain cruise-package inclusions and coordinate an optional Hanoi transfer. All sailing routes, excursions and access to the water depend on local permissions, weather and the captain’s safety decisions. The final programme and total price are confirmed in writing before booking.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

A flexible outline of your private Vietnam journey.

Day 1Tuan Chau Marina – Me Cung Cave and Tung Sau Kayaking

Arrive at the Emperor Cruises check-in lounge at Tuan Chau International Marina around the operator's confirmed midday boarding window; the published three-day programme has used Lounge 28B, but confirm the exact terminal and time before travel. Hanoi-to-Ha Long transport is optional and is not presumed included. After boarding, receive the crew's safety briefing and settle into your confirmed suite. Cruise among Ha Long Bay's limestone formations while enjoying the scheduled lunch. The published route proposes Me Cung Cave and the Tung Sau area for kayaking or an appropriate alternative when weather and permission allow. Join optional onboard tea or cooking activities in the late afternoon, followed by dinner and a relaxed evening aboard. Swimming, kayaking and night squid fishing depend on safety rules and actual operating conditions.

Overnight: Emperor Cruises Legacy Halong – night 1 of 2

Meals: Lunch and dinner according to the confirmed full-board cruise rate

Places: Tuan Chau International Marina, Ha Long → Emperor Cruises overnight anchorage, Ha Long Bay

Day 2Lan Ha Bay and Viet Hai Village – Day Boat Experience

Wake to the bay scenery and join an optional morning exercise if the crew schedules one. After breakfast, transfer with the cruise team to the operator's day boat or speedboat for the longer excursion towards Viet Hai Village on Cat Ba Island. A village visit may include a bicycle or electric-cart option; cycling is not mandatory, and access depends on the route, vehicles and weather. Lunch is arranged according to the cruise's confirmed package, typically in the village or on the excursion boat. Weather permitting, a further stop may allow kayaking, swimming or time among the limestone islets of Lan Ha Bay; the operator may choose an alternative safe area. Return to the main vessel for the second overnight cruise. Spa treatments and private specialist activities cost extra unless expressly included.

Overnight: Emperor Cruises Legacy Halong – night 2 of 2

Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner according to the confirmed full-board cruise rate

Places: Emperor Cruises overnight anchorage, Ha Long Bay → Emperor Cruises overnight anchorage after Lan Ha Bay excursion

Day 3Luon Cave – Disembark at Tuan Chau

Enjoy the early morning view and a light breakfast as scheduled by the cruise crew. If access and conditions allow, take the operator's bamboo-boat excursion to Luon Cave, where a local rower guides guests through the limestone landscape. Return to the vessel to pack and check out of your suite. A final brunch is typically served during the cruise back towards Tuan Chau. Disembark at the confirmed terminal around late morning, subject to the harbour schedule and weather. The standard cruise ends at Tuan Chau Marina; onward road transport to Hanoi is provided only if it has been separately booked and explicitly included in the personalised proposal.

Overnight: Cruise ends at Tuan Chau; no third night is included

Meals: Light breakfast and brunch according to the confirmed full-board cruise rate

Places: Emperor Cruises overnight anchorage, Ha Long Bay → Tuan Chau International Marina, Ha Long

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Emperor Cruises a private boat for our group?

No. The standard three-day experience is a private suite or suites booked on a scheduled vessel that carries other guests. A whole-ship private charter is a separate product and must be quoted and confirmed with the operator.

Where does the three-day cruise begin and end?

The published cruise begins and ends at Tuan Chau International Marina in Ha Long. Emperor Cruises has used Lounge 28B; Haivenu will reconfirm the terminal, check-in time and contact instructions for your actual sailing.

Are Hanoi hotel pickup and the return transfer included?

Not by default. Emperor Cruises advertises a shared Hanoi shuttle as a separately booked service; private road transport can also be quoted. Only transport explicitly included in the accepted proposal is provided.

How many nights are spent aboard?

Two nights are spent in your confirmed Emperor Cruises suite. The cruise runs for three calendar days and ends after late-morning disembarkation on Day 3.

Which bays and attractions will we visit?

The published three-day route describes Ha Long Bay, a Lan Ha Bay and Viet Hai day-boat excursion, and potential stops at Me Cung, Tung Sau and Luon Cave. These are planned rather than guaranteed stops: port authority instructions, weather or operator adjustments may change the route.

Is Viet Hai Village on the main cruise boat?

The published second-day programme uses a smaller day boat or speedboat to reach the Viet Hai and Lan Ha Bay area. The main overnight vessel remains the base for your suite and second night's stay.

Must I cycle to visit Viet Hai Village?

No. Cycling can be offered on the second-day village excursion, but the operator may use an electric cart or other suitable alternative where available. Tell Haivenu about your mobility preferences before booking.

Is kayaking suitable for people with no experience?

Beginners may join when the operator provides suitable equipment, life jackets and safety instructions, but participation depends on the activity rules, health and sea conditions. Guests can decline kayaking.

What meals are included in the cruise?

The operator's published full-board three-day programme includes two lunches, two dinners, two breakfasts and a brunch. Haivenu will confirm the precise meal plan and any dietary arrangements in your selected quote.

Are drinks, wine and minibar items included?

Drink benefits differ between full-board and any all-inclusive packages. Do not assume unlimited wine, cocktails or minibars; the accepted quotation will state exactly which beverages are covered.

Does every suite have a private balcony?

The operator advertises balcony suites, but cabin names, facilities, occupancy, layout and availability must be confirmed by suite category before payment.

Can we enjoy massage or spa treatments on board?

Spa and massage services may be offered with advance reservation and an extra charge. They are not included in every cruise package.

Is a visit to Luon Cave guaranteed on Day 3?

No. The operator's published programme proposes a bamboo-boat trip to Luon Cave, but the harbour authorities or crew may change or cancel it for safety or site access.

What happens if bad weather affects the cruise?

Cruise departures and excursions can be delayed, shortened, changed or cancelled under local port authority rules and the captain's safety decisions. Available alternatives, fees and refunds follow the confirmed booking and operator policy.

How do we request a quote for this three-day cruise?

Share your preferred sailing dates, number and ages of guests, suite preference, any Hanoi transfers, dietary needs and activity restrictions. Haivenu will confirm cabin availability, the exact operator package, inclusions, final price and cancellation terms in writing.
